The National Fishing in Schools Program is a nationwide program that brings outdoor education indoors to middle schools and high schools, grades 6-12. It uses the lifetime activity of fishing as the foundation for its curriculum, which meets 4 national academic standards. "Fishing in Schools" teaches students how to fly or spincast as they also learn about aquatic entomology, fish, freshwater ecology and the outdoors. The National Fishing in Schools Program (NFSP) is a registered trade name of the Fishing Education Foundation (FEF), a nonprofit corporation that provides grant funding to schools to help them adopt the NFSP program.
